Sea Shell Collections and San Diego Zoo

This morning we got up really early and headed out to the beach to find sea shells. That's pretty much all Reagan has talked about doing since we left for CA, going out and finding sea shells. We did find a few pretty ones, nothing like the shells we found in Oregon, but we are going to try another beach on a different day.

We came back and got ready to leave for the zoo. It was such a NICE zoo, but such a hot and humid day. The kids actually did really well, I was very impressed with them. We took a couple of little zoo tours, one on a bus that had a top level that we rode on, and another on a ski lift type thing that took you from one end to the other. The zoo is HUGE, I don't know that we really even made a dent in it, but we saw so many neat animals!

One of the pictures you will see is of a little Meerkat playing with a camera. That would be Cameron's camera that he is playing with. Cameron was climbing on some rocks to get a better look at the Meerkats, and about 2 seconds after I told him that climbing those was NOT a good idea, we all heard a thud...and then the meerkats all swarmed. There was Cameron's camera...right in the middle of all of them! We did get it back, but it was kind of a fight. Guess the little Meerkats wanted the camera, the poor zoo lady was having to fight them off. So that was our big excitement for the day. Cameron was feeling pretty bad about it until we saw someone else drop something in the Meerkat cage right after we got his camera out. Guess he wasn't the first, and obviously not the last! :)

Looks like you guys are having lots of fun! We went to the San Diego Zoo the other day too. It it gigantic. We didn't make it through it all. Zoey wouldn't cooperate any longer and it was the hottest day we had there. But it really is a way nice and cool zoo.
