Pinewood Derby

Tonight was the Pinewood Derby. Poor Cameron's car had one issue after another! It was time to go weigh in, and we were still trying to get a half way decent paint job on it. Chris worked his magic, and Cameron actually ended up winning the "Coolest Car" Award.

The races were all pretty close. Cameron's car did fairly well, but he didn't place in the actual race. Chris however won the Dad's race. His car won every race it was in, and Darian's car took 3rd in the Boy's race. I don't know how they were all so different, since they were all made the exact same way, but oh well, I think everyone ended up having a good time.

Keric was half way decent...we only had some minor "problems". He was crawling around trying to climb up on Chris while he was helping the boys with their last minute car details and he ended up with graphite all over his head, hands and knees, but nothing else too major. I swear that boy is just simply ALL boy!

15 months old & Tiara's "birthday"

Today was kind of a bitter sweet day for both of my "babies".

The bitter part is that today was the 5th anniversary of the day I went to pick up Tiara at the airport. We used to celebrate this day as her "birthday". I thought about her all day long! I miss that little dog so much! She was so sweet, and way too young to have passed away already. I went and put some flowers on her little grave today and told her happy birthday. I don't know where doggies go when they die, but in my head I envision her sitting with Pampa Fraig on a big fluffy couch watching movies somewhere up in heaven.

The sweet part..although somewhat sad is that today was also the day Bubby officially became 15 months old. I took Bubby to his Dr. appointment today. Dr. Barr was really happy with the progress he had made since his last visit. He only gained a pound in 2 months, but supposedly that's fairly normal. I had to laugh at him though. After she was done with his check-up she bent down to tell him goodbye and he gave her a big hug and a kiss!! Such a little ladies man! She is very pretty, but I was a little shocked that he was so comfortable giving her a hug and a kiss.

Happy "Birthday" to both my babies!

Pinewood Derby Time

Chris and Cameron got their pinewood derby cars today, so they got to work on them. Chris never does anything "half way" and the pinewood derby is no different!

The leaders asked that the boys make their own cars, and not sit and watch their dad's make them, which was why they decided to do a dad's race too.

Chris and Cameron each got on the Internet and picked out a car shape that they wanted to do. Chris helped Cam sketch it out, and then they went downstairs to start the cutting. Chris of course had to help with the power saw, but Cameron did all the sanding and all the filing.

They both look like pretty cool cars! They still need to do the paint and all the finishing touches on them, but I'll bet they will be the best looking cars at the Derby!

Bath Time

I always say that bath time is Bubby's favorite time of the day, but honestly...it's pretty high up on my list of favorite times of the day too.

From the time he was just a little tiny peanut, he has LOVED his bath! It has always been so much fun for me to give him baths as he has grown up.

He of course had to have the little baby bath holder, and I still remember the day that he grew out of it. It was kind of sad for me. Slowly he grew big enough to be able to sit up on his own, however he never wanted to. I would put him in, and he would immediately throw himself backwards and lay down in the water.

Now he is at the age where he is playing with toys and splashing. It's a different show every day! He loves it so much that I take my make up and hair things into the kids' bathroom, and I let him play in the bathtub while I get ready. I love his little raisin feet and hands when he finally has to get out.

I can't believe how fast time has gone by! I know the day will come when he is taking his OWN baths/showers, and obviously wont need my help. That will be a bitter/sweet and sad day for me!

Happy Birthday Chris!

Today was Chris' birthday. I always TRY to make his birthday as fun and eventful as he makes mine...but I always seem to somehow fail. One day I'll get it...but I guess I haven't gotten it quite yet.

This morning Bubby gave him his little presents. He didn't want anything big of course, so the biggest things he got was an Aerosmith CD that he wanted...I know...big whoop!

I had planned to take him out somewhere for dinner, in fact I thought it might be fun to take a little trip out to Wendover and have Seafood...but he instead decided to make his own birthday dinner. Granted it was way better than anything we would have gotten in Wendover...but if I were the sweet and loving wife that I SHOULD be, then I would have made HIM dinner and not the other way around.

We had Mama Anne and Jon over for a Surf and Turf feast! We had steak, Salmon, Mahi Mahi, and Lobster tail with broccoli, and salad. It was SO YUMMY. Keric loved all of it, including the lobster. This was the first time I have ever had lobster, and I have to say, it was quite tasty.

I hope you had a somewhat decent birthday honey! We love you! Happy Birthday!

An hour with Keric

Yesterday the kids went to swimming lessons, so Keric and I were home for an hour by ourselves. I probably could have done something a little more productive, like breakfast dishes, but I instead decided to follow him around with the camera and see how much stuff he could get into in the time the kids were gone. I only got a FEW pictures, because most of the stuff he was into, I couldn't stop to take pictures of, I only had time to stop HIM.

My little photo shoot was actually kind of therapeutic. I feel like I get nothing done some days except chasing him down and as is evident by his first word...tell him some form of NO! Well...now I have proof that some days...that really is all I CAN get done and maybe now I wont feel so bad.

Oh the fun we will have when he actually starts to walk!

Eating My Words

Yesterday I was so proud of Keric because he ate Salmon for the first time last night and he LOVED it! We had it for dinner and he just couldn't get enough of it. I took a picture of him with salmon and tartar sauce all over his little face, and I posted it on my 365 blog. I also mentioned in that post that I was particularly proud of his love of fish because Chris, Cameron and Reagan were not big fish lovers, and I love it. Actually, I guess I can't say Chris doesn't like fish, he is just really picky about the kinds of fish he will eat. If it's "good" fish, he likes it, but rarely do you find "good" fish around here. I'm not as picky I guess...I think it's all good, and I love Red Lobster, which Chris thinks is just absurd, he won't step foot into that place.

Today Chris brought home some Talippia from Costco for me and we decided to grill it for dinner. I expected to have TONS left over for me and Bubby's lunch tomorrow, and also to have the big discussion about how many bites needed to be eaten, and how this was the only thing for dinner, and there would be nothing else tonight, but low and behold...Cameron and Reagan not only ate it, they wanted Chris to make more! Who knew???

So, Chris took pictures as proof, that they WILL eat fish, because I'm guessing there will be a time soon enough that Reagan will try and tell us that she hates fish, and then we can show her this picture. I figured since they both did such a great job eating their fish, I needed to "eat" my words. I guess I can no longer say..."Cameron and Reagan don't like fish". Oh the new menu possiblities...wait..I better not jinx it...!
