Digital Scrap booking

So I decided to give this digital scrap booking thing another try. I failed pretty miserably the first time I tried it.

My friend Lissel was nice enough to let me come over to her house where she gave me a one on one lesson this afternoon for a couple hours. Once I was able to see and do things a little, I sort of got the hang of it. She showed me some really cool things, that I still have not mastered yet, but I did get ONE page done.

It is nothing fancy by any means. If you were to look at some of her pages, you would be disappointed in mine, but I'm happy with the end result for the most part. I won't tell you how LONG this took me, but here is Keric's very first Scrapbook page. I hope it wont be his last...but ya never know! ha ha

Ugh....Wednesdays!

Wednesday's always seem to be my most hectic day! Now that I am in the Young Womens, it will be just that much more hectic.

This afternoon we had Achievement days. It was my second activity, and also sadly my last. We made these really cute purses out of old jeans. I had to take all three kids with me because Achievement days is at 3 p.m. and Chris is obviously still at work. Cameron wanted to stay home, but I don't feel comfortable leaving him home alone. I'm paranoid I guess. So I dragged them all with me.

Poor Cameron was the only boy, and totally bored, Reagan jumped right in with the other girls and made a cute little purse, and Bubby screamed the entire time! It was kind of a lot of chaos, but it was fun, and it was pretty obvious that the girls who came loved it. Reagan's purse turned out really cute.

After Achievement days was over I very selfishly stole Lissel's little girls and brought them home with me. I used the excuse of "You need a break", but really I needed to get ready for YW and I also needed to get dinner done so I could go to YW by 7:00 so I took Halle and Ava home with me to give Reagan something to do! :) They had a great time for about an hour or so, and that gave me a chance to feed Keric, get dinner going, and get stuff ready for YW.

I barely got dinner ready just in time for Chris to walk through the door from work and for me to shove dinner in my face and leave again for Young Women's.

Young Womens was fun. They made cute little "I'm lucky to be me" shirts for this months Value, Individual Worth, that they can wear on St. Patricks day.

I got home around 8:45 p.m. just in time for kids jammies, prayers and bed! I'm always so happy when Wednesday is finally over!!

My Blog-Aversary

I still remember so vividly a year ago today, the day I wrote my very first blog entry! It took me forever to write! I would write something and then erase it over and over and over again!

My sisters Bethany and Danna both had blogs and I loved reading their stories and looking at their pictures, but I never really thought blogging was my "thing".

I admit that the whole blog thing was a little intimidating at first. I figured my life was way too boring to write about, and it still is, which was why I didn't keep a journal. THe only reason I even started with the blog was because I was pregnant, and I wanted to write down SOME kind of rememberance of that experience somewhere, along with keeping my family up to date on what was going on.

I worried about what to say, and how much I SHOULD say, about what would even be WORTH saying, and even more worried about who would be reading my random thoughts, and what they would be thinking about them.

Well...I obviously got over all of my "fears" because now I am totally addicted! Chris says I have a problem and that I am an addict, and he is probably right. I spend way too much time on here I admit that, but I have decided to turn all my time that I spend on here into something "good".

I have taken the whole years worth of pictures and blog entries and I am turning them into a book.

I'm really excited about it! I think it will be really fun to look at in a few years, and I hope that someday my children will appreciate looking back on their lives through their Mommy's eyes.

So here goes another year of the Wexels Family and our blog. I am excited to see what our blog will have in the next coming year! Thanks for spending a year with all of us!

When Did I become a Grown Up??

This is a picture of my Mom with 6 of the 7 of us. I'm not exactly sure how old she is in this picture, but my guess is judging by how old my littlest brother is, she is only a couple years older then I am now. It's hard to judge how old my Mom is in any picture, since she still looks exactly the same!

As a child, I remember thinking that I couldn't wait to be as grown up as my Mom was. I just knew I would be a totally different person after I was all grown up and after I got married, after I became a Mom, after, after, after....

So here I am...after most if not all of those things that I thought would make me a different person. The weird thing is that in my own mind I still have not reached that milestone of being how I viewed my Mom from my little 12 year old eyes.

Yesterday I was called to be the 1st counselor in the Young Women's Presidency. I still remember very vividly my mom being in the Young Womens Presidency when I was growing up! Have I really reached this part of my life, where I am doing grown up callings?!?! I feel like I just LEFT Young Womens! Will there now be girls who look at me like I looked at my Mom back then?

So here I am...all "grown up"! When exactly did I become a grown up? I don't feel any different, and I certainly don't feel like I am "all grown up!" Guess like most things in life, it happened without me realizing it. Go Figure!

I've been punked!

So for the last I don't even KNOW how long, I have been worried about Keric not being able to sit up! So worried in fact, that we have considered taking him to early intervention through the school district. They have a baby "coach" that will evaluate your baby and help them do exercises that will teach them to roll over and sit up or whatever it is they aren't doing!

Well....we have been totally PUNKED!

Yesterday after Cameron's pack meeting, we had a little "celebration". I made Brownies, and we went to Wal-Mart and let him pick out some ice cream and we had Brownies and Ice cream for our treat. Keric was LOVING his brownie and ice cream, and before I realized exactly what I was looking at, he was sitting up ON HIS OWN eating ice cream! Didn't wobble ONCE, didn't fall over, NOTHING...just sat there, like he had been doing it for months!

UGH! We've been right the entire time...he is just lazy! If he wants something bad enough, he is more than willing to sit up, otherwise, I guess he doesn't feel the need to do it.

So here is our proof...he CAN sit up...he just chooses not to! I'm fairly sure this little man is going to give me a run for my money for a VERY long time!

Scrabble Night

Scrabble was one of Pampa Fraigs favorite games! We played many times at his house, and it seemed like he ALWAYS won! He had a vocabulary like few I've ever known, except for maybe Chris. ;) In fact truth be known, I really had never played until I met Chris' family, and since Craig is gone now, I haven't played since.

After Craig passed away, Chris and I helped Mama Anne clean out his office. We found LOTS of Scrabble games, a few still in the plastic wrap. Mama Anne gave our family a scrabble game, but we had yet to use it until last night.

Chris had been working down in the basement, and after awhile, he came up with the Scrabble game, and had us all play.

It was actually really fun. We changed the rules a little bit, the kids words were all worth double, since they had to come up with them on their own for the most part. Mae Mae had some help, but Cam actually did a really good job! I am embarrassed to say the only person I did better then was Bubby, and that was because he didn't play. :( I don't quite have the Wexels vocabulary I guess.

We'll have to play Scrabble again soon. I would like my kids to remember Pampa Fraigs favorite game! :)

It's always a party when Daddy is in charge!

Last night we got home late from Mamma Anne's house. We were trying to hurry and get the kids ready for bed. This doesn't always happen when Daddy is involved. Mostly it's kids trying to get ready for bed, and Daddy playing!

Daddy was in charge of getting Bubby's jammies on. Instead, he decided to give Bubby a turban! Poor baby!
